Monthly Programs For September 2016 through June 2017
All programs begin at 1:30 PM unless otherwise indicated

September 10 "Joe Wilshire and His Rifle" Jack Wilshire will present the history of Oak Glen pioneer Joe Wilshire and his rifle.  Jack will donate the rifle to the Mousley Museum"
October 1 "Smokey Bear's Story" Lenore Will presents the history of Smokey the Bear.  Smokey Bear will meet with children prior to the presentation.
November   5 County Museum Report The new San Bernardino County Museum director, Melissa Russo, will present "The Future of the San Bernardino County Museum and the Yucaipa Adobe".
December 3 Annual Christmas Luncheon The Christmas dinner and installation of officers is on Saturday, Dec 3 at noon at the Mousley Museum.  Dinner is $10 per person, catered by Law's Coffee Shop.  The reservation deadline is Dec 1.  Call 790-4685.  Make checks payable to Yucaipa Valley Historical Society.
Januay  7 "Coyotes Tales" The local prehistoric people were known as the Coyote clan.  Lenore Will will provide information on local coyotes and also Serrano and other tribal stories and myths about coyotes that share residence in Yucaipa, Calimesa and Oak Glen.
February 4  "History of Baseball in Yucaipa"

Richard 'Red' Simmons will present the History of Baseball in Yucaipa.  We will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Yucaipa Valley Historical Society.

March  4 "BATS!" Jennifer DiMarchini, wildlife specialist, will present a program focusing on local bats.
April 1 April Fool's Day program Film:  The Signs & Rhymes of Burma-Shave
May 5 - 7 Yucaipa Music  & Arts Festival Find our booth at the California Street roundabout.
